Our Loughton veterinary practice has been assisting the pets of Essex and London since it was established in 2003. After a complete refurbishment, the practice now has lots of indoor space to create a stress-free and friendlier space for pets.

The dedicated and caring team of Loughton vets pride themselves on the connections they can create with their patients to help them stay calm and relaxed. They are always happy to offer helpful advice to pet owners on anything to help keep their pet’s welfare in top condition, so their fluffy companion remains in the best health.

How to Find Us

Our Loughton vets is located in Epping Forest in the Southwest of Essex in Epping Forest. It lies just outside the London boroughs of Redbridge and Waltham Forest and is easily accessible both by car and by public transport.

Parking and Accessibility

There is parking available outside the building and on the surrounding streets. The practice is a short 10-minute walk from Loughton Tube Station which sits on the Underground’s Central Line, and the 167 bus has a stop right outside the front of the surgery.

What to do in the event of an emergency

In the event of a veterinary emergency or if your pet is unwell out of hours, we have emergency pet hospitals that offer dedicated emergency pet care services across Greater London open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. For your peace of mind and continuity of care, your pet’s medical history is accessible in any of our branches or hospitals any time of the day or night.

Walter graduated from Naples Federico II University (Italy) and since being in the UK has gained experience and motivation in several practices before joining the team at Loughton in 2022.  Alongside Walter’s interest in Soft Tissue Surgery and Orthopaedics, he is enrolled for the PGCert in Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Chester.  Walter believes that his curiosity drives and motivates him not only to be accurate and meticulous vet, but also to have a critical and creative approach to his patients and clients.  Outside of work Walter enjoys individual and team sports such as football and boxing.

Sam qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2006 whilst working at the Wanstead Veterinary Hospital. She then went on to further her career by studying equine veterinary nursing and re-joined the practice in 2014 as a senior nurse at the Loughton branch. Sam has a keen interest in surgical nursing and patient rehabilitation. She has a pet dog, Dorothy, who she hand reared from birth due to Dorothy’s severe cleft palate.

Su is a familiar face at the practice having started working for the Goddard Group straight from school. Over the years Su has worked as head nurse at the hospital in Wanstead, part time here at Loughton whilst bringing up a family, the hydrotherapy pool and covering maternity leave at the Chingford surgery.  Su returned to the Loughton surgery in 2014 after completing her VCA qualification and completed her nursing diploma in 2018.  Su has a particular interest in dog behavior and puppy advice.

Amy had a keen interest in animals from a young age and completed work experience at a veterinary clinic during her school years and worked her summer holidays in a boarding kennels. She went on to join Goddard Veterinary Group from school where she completed her Animal Nursing Assistant course and became a Student Veterinary Nurse before qualifying as an RVN in 2019 and joining the team at Loughton.

Sarah joined the team at Loughton in 2021 having graduated as a Registered Veterinary Nurse at the hospital in Wanstead twenty years previously. Sarah went on to become Head Nurse at another hospital in North London before taking some time out to have a family. Sarah is now pleased to be returning to the job she loves and has a keen interest in all aspects of theatre and nurse consultations.

Philippa joined the Goddard Group in 1999 and has seen it develop and grow over the years. Originally from a veterinary equine practice, Philippa now manages ten branches in the East London area. Philippa achieved her management certificate Cert B&PS in 1999 and her Certificate Veterinary Practice Management CVPM in 2013. Philippa lives with her husband, son and her rescue cats Duncan and Sydney. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering projects, was an Olympic Games Maker in London 2012 and helps out at Saturday Park Runs. Philippa has a passion for photography and participates in many charity runs (as long as there is a medal at the end!).
